Utilizing the latest in breast imaging technology, Hendrick Health delivers compassionate and comprehensive breast imaging care, unmatched by any healthcare facility in the region.
Hendrick Health breast imaging facilities are equipped with 3-D mammography technology that may detect breast cancer at the earliest stages, when treatment can be most effective. Bone density exams are performed to diagnose bone loss, a condition known as osteoporosis which places women at risk for fractures, pain and immobility.
Testing is conducted by a team of experienced, certified mammography and sonography technologists - women who are sensitive to their patients' needs and concerns. State-of-the-art equipment is used for all mammography, ultrasound and diagnostic studies.
The 3-D mammography exam allows doctors to examine your breast tissue layer by layer. Instead of viewing all of the complexities of your breast tissue in a flat image, as with conventional two-dimensional mammography, fine details are more visible and no longer hidden by the tissue above or below.
More than 100 clinical studies have shown that by using this technology, doctors are able to screen for breast cancer with much greater accuracy regardless of a women’s age or breast density.
3-D mammography is proven to detect breast cancers 15 months earlier, reduce unnecessary callbacks by up to 40 percent and find 41 percent more invasive cancers than conventional mammography alone.
