Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the U.S. The lifetime risk of developing CRC is 1 in 20. More than 130,000 new cases of CRC will be diagnosed this year.
If detected early, 90% of all CRC deaths are preventable. To help in early detection, Hendrick Cancer Center is offering free fecal immunochemical tests (FIT) for screening for the presence of blood as an indication of colorectal cancer. A few easy steps can save your life. Register for the assessment by phone at 325-670-4488 or submit your information in the form below. Once registered, a representative from Hendrick Cancer Center will call to perform the assessment or email the assessment to you.
If the criteria is met, you will be mailed a test kit to complete in the privacy of your own home. No prep needed or diet restrictions. Individuals must be 45-75 years old. Mail back the sample in the self addressed and stamped envelope provided. Lab results will be mailed to you and to your physician.
