Hendrick Health hospitals accepting applications for summer Junior Volunteers

Applications are now being accepted for the summer Junior Volunteer program at Hendrick Health campuses in Abilene and Brownwood.

“Being a junior volunteer offers many rewards for participants,” said Sabra Knox, manager of Volunteer Services at Hendrick Health. “In addition to connecting with the community and developing social skills, they can observe a diverse range of career opportunities in clinical and nonclinical areas of a hospital.”

Applicants must be 14 years of age by Aug. 31, 2025. Flexible schedules are available to work around sports, camps, vacations and other summer activities.

At Hendrick Medical Center in north Abilene and Hendrick Medical Center South in south Abilene, assignments are available in multiple areas, including information desks, Gift Shop, Radiology, Rehabilitation, Central Supply, Admissions, snack cart, coffee shop and nursing units.

Junior Volunteers at Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood in Brownwood can serve in the Women’s and Children unit, Laboratory, Central Supply, Radiology, Human Resources, Gastroenterology Lab, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Medical Records, Gift Shop and snack cart.

For an application, visit hendrickhealth.org, click on the “Community” tab and then select “Volunteer Services.” Applicants may also call 325-670-2317 in Abilene or 325-649-3392 in Brownwood.

To allow time for a personal interview, applications must be received by May 2, 2025. Orientations will be conducted June 2, 2025, in Abilene and June 3, 2025, in Brownwood.
