Hendrick Plastic Surgery and MedSpa now offering gold standard tattoo removal

Hendrick Plastic Surgery and MedSpa is now offering new Q-switched laser treatment with Spectrum Laser from ROHRER Aesthetics. This new technology allows patients to have both black- and colored-ink tattoos removed.

The Q-switched laser pulses high-power laser beams with such precision that no thermal interaction occurs with tissues. This means that it produces minimal damage to surrounding tissues internally, and targets only the tattoo ink pigments. Once the laser energy contacts the pigment, it divides the ink particles into tiny fragments. The body’s immune system then naturally flushes these small fragments from the body and restores the treated area to its natural skin color.

Depending on the size and area of the tattoo, treatments can take several minutes to an hour. The number of sessions needed depends on the depth, size and color of the tattoo. Sessions are spaced six to eight weeks apart, which allows skin to process the treatment. Most tattoos will need six to 10 treatments to fully remove the tattoo ink.
