Hendrick Medical Center and Hendrick Medical Center South recognized for stroke care

Hendrick Medical Center and Hendrick Medical Center South were recognized recently by the American Heart Association for proven dedication to lifesaving care for stroke patients.
Hendrick Medical Center received the Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke Gold Plus quality achievement award for its commitment to ensuring stroke patients receive up-to-date treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines to minimize the long-term effects of a stroke and even prevent death.
The hospital also received the Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite award for meeting criteria that reduces the time between an eligible patient’s arrival at the hospital and treatment with a clot-buster medication. In addition, Hendrick Medical Center was honored with Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll award for ensuring patients with Type 2 diabetes receive up-to-date care when hospitalized due to stroke.

“We’re proud of these awards because they recognize the hard work and dedication of our stroke team to quickly and skillfully care for our stroke patients, from first response to recovery,” said Martee Tebow, heart attack/stroke program senior coordinator at Hendrick Health. “We strive every day to save lives and reduce disability following a stroke.”
The awards were presented during the International Stroke Conference 2023 in Dallas.
