Hendrick Health hosts free Diabetes Expo, Nov. 5

Hendrick Diabetes Center is hosting its annual free Diabetes Expo Saturday, Nov. 5 from 9 - 11:30 a.m. in the Shelton Building, second floor, at 2000 Pine Street.

The goal of the participating physicians and other healthcare providers is to help attendees learn to improve their ability to manage diabetes.

The speakers will be Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeoke, gastroenterologist, who will discuss diabetes and fatty liver disease, and Dr. Timothy Bumann, hyperbaric medicine and wound care physician, who will talk about diabetes and wound care.

Certified diabetes educators, a pharmacist, a registered dietitian and other healthcare providers also will have interactive educational booths for attendees to visit. Topics will include:

• Meals
• Moving (exercise)
• Monitoring
• Medications
• Management
