One of 17 Texas hospitals to earn top honors
Hendrick Health recently earned the 2019 Healthcare’s Most Wired recognition from the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME). Hendrick is one of only 17 hospitals in Texas to receive the honor. Each year, CHIME’s Most Wired program surveys how effectively healthcare organizations apply core and advanced technologies into their clinical and business programs to improve health and care in their communities.“Providing a ‘connected care’ experience for our patients and our care providers is a top priority at Hendrick, and the Most Wired recognition is a validation of our efforts” said Brad Holland, president and CEO of Hendrick Health. “When we use technology effectively, it enhances care coordination and leads to improved patient and provider engagement, as well as better patient outcomes.”
The 2019 Most Wired program included 16,168 organizations and three different surveys. These surveys assessed the adoption, integrations and impact of technologies in healthcare organizations at all stages of development. Each participating organization received a customized benchmarking report and an overall score. Organizations were scored individually in the following eight segments: infrastructure; security; business/disaster recovery; administrative/supply chain; analytics/data management; interoperability/population health; patient engagement; and clinical quality/safety.
“Healthcare organizations across the globe are continually striving to raise the standard of care, pushing themselves and their peers to do better,” said CHIME President and CEO Russ Branzell. “We designed Most Wired to identify and share those leading practices so everyone can benefit. It is an honor to be among those that perform at the highest levels, knowing that the excellence they achieve will impact patients for years to come.”
Hendrick last received the Most Wired designation in 2017 from the American Hospital Association’s Health Forum. This is the second year that CHIME has conducted the survey and overseen the program. CHIME will publish a report based on Most Wired responses to identify industry trends in 2019.
