Hendrick Health earns 13th Great Workplace Award for employee engagement

Hendrick Health has received the Gallup Great Workplace Award for the 13th consecutive year, earning the distinction with only one other company worldwide. Hendrick Health and ABC Supply Co. have been recognized each year since the award was first introduced in 2006. Forty leading organizations were included on this year’s list, with Hendrick as one of seven healthcare industry leaders.

The Great Workplace Award was created to recognize organizations for their extraordinary ability to create engaged workplace cultures that drive business outcomes. Gallup analytics reveal that only 15 percent of worldwide workers “came to work today engaged and ready to maximize their performance.” And yet, a few exceptional organizations have more than 70 percent of their workers ready to outperform their competition.

According to Gallup, all of the award recipients have shown measurable business impact as a result of having a more engaged workforce. They have achieved this by integrating engagement into four areas that Gallup has identified as vital to cultivating a workplace culture of engagement:

• strategy and leadership
• accountability and performance
• communication and knowledge management
• development and ongoing learning

The award winners represent a wide range of industries and countries, and set a high standard for what the world's employers can achieve.
