Hendrick Welcomes Dr. Cavazos

Hendrick Medical Center is pleased to welcome Joel Cavazos, MD, to Abilene. Dr. Cavazos received his medical degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Recipient of the Outstanding Resident Award, Dr. Cavazos served as chief resident in anesthesiology and completed his pain medicine fellowship at Scott & White Medical Center in Temple, Texas.
“It is such a great honor to partner with patients as they reclaim what chronic pain has stolen from them, regain function and ultimately elevate their quality of life,” said Dr. Cavazos.
He is board certified in anesthesiology and pain medicine by the American Board of Anesthesiology and is a member of the North American Neuromodulation Society. His professional interests include chronic pain management techniques including injections, spinal cord stimulation, radio frequency ablation, medication management, concurrent physical therapy and psychological treatments.
Dr. Cavazos and his family are excited to be in Abilene, which he calls a vibrant, close-knit and kind-hearted community.
