Hendrick welcomes Dr. Reis

Providing specialized cardiovascular care to West Texas – Victor Reis, MD – Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery

Hendrick Medical Center welcomes Victor Reis, MD. As the son of a physician, Dr. Reis has strong ties to both Texas and to medicine. After watching his father care for his small community, healthcare was a natural fit for him.

“Inspired by my father, my goal has been to practice medicine in a close-knit Texas community like Abilene,” Reis said.

After graduating from The University of Texas in San Antonio, Dr. Reis earned his medical degree from Texas Tech University School of Medicine in Lubbock. He completed a general surgery residency at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Pennsylvania and a thoracic surgery fellowship at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida.

Dr. Reis is a member of the American Association of Thoracic Surgery, the Society of Thoracic Surgery, the Southern Thoracic Surgical Association and the American College of Surgeons.

Returning to Texas to begin his practice, Dr. Reis and his family are happy to make Abilene their new home.
