Medical Record Snooping

Medical record snooping occurs when an employee or medical staff member intentionally and inappropriately accesses protected health information (PHI) or other parts of the electronic medical record for a non-work-related reason.

Hendrick uses a screening software program called MAIZE to detect unauthorized access to medical records. This software program will notify the compliance team of potential unauthorized access to the medical record.
