Professional Education at Hendrick

Healthcare professionals may receive continuing education credits, re-certification, and attend a variety of workshops and classes through the Department of Education and Professional Development. Staff and community members alike may take advantage of the great opportunities provided throughout the year.

Hendrick Health is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the Texas Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

Hendrick Health is accredited by the Texas Medical Association to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Nurse Residency Program

At Hendrick, we understand the challenges nurses face in their transition from student to professional, particularly in the first year. The Hendrick Nurse Residency Program is the bridge between education and practice, using three components to prepare and to support newly licensed RNs as they build careers devoted to caring for others.

  • 12 month program
  • Monthly seminars cover leadership, quality outcomes, professional role, and evidenced-based practice
  • All newly licensed RNs are automatically enrolled into the program

Patient and Family Education
