Posted: 01/10/2017
Hendrick Medical Center recently achieved the prestigious Pathway to Excellence
® re-designation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Hendrick first received the distinction in 2007, and was re-designated in 2010, 2013 and 2016. Institutions are eligible to receive designation every three years.
“Organizations earning and maintaining this designation are recognized as having a positive work environment in which nurses provide exemplary care,” said Susie Cassle, vice president for Hendrick Medical Center. “Increased retention rates, improved nursing engagement and improved patient outcomes are just a few of the benefits of a Pathway to Excellence
®designated organization.”
For an organization to earn the distinction, it must successfully undergo a thorough review process that documents foundational quality initiatives in creating a positive work environment as defined by nurses and supported by research.
As a Pathway to Excellence
®designated hospital, Hendrick Medical Center is committed to creating an environment where nurses excel and feel valued as integral members of inter-professional healthcare teams. This designation confirms to the public that nurses working at Hendrick know their efforts are supported. The honor encourages other nurses to join their colleagues in this desirable and nurturing environment.
